praise for Diane Keaton

Diane Keaton is a national treasure, a gem, a huge talent. I just sat and admired her work in this movie--when I wasn't laughing. Dax Shepard and Mike White were also very funny--I wonder why I haven't seen more of them. A good script-- but the way the lines were delivered really was excellent. Liv Tyler was the one dull character--she was too monotone and not very likeable.

Diane Keaton unfortunately has been relegated to trite roles playing the harping mother (or grandmother) in recent years, but I was pleasantly surprised by this one, which is very entertaining. This film has many moments of inspired lunacy, and the script has some clever lines and sight gags. Liv Tyler is the weak link in most of her films, and this is no exception.
