He stole from Paul Reiser.

Listen to 3 1/2 blocks from home. Paul does a bit on couples going to the movies. The part in which he talks about coming back to the dark theatre after having gotten food for his wife. I'm sure he thought he made it his own by using bird noises. The Dane Cook bandit has struck again!

We now return to the communists...

"comedians steal jokes from each other all the time "

no we don't. this is something people who aren't comics like to say all the time but the truth is that we don't. sometimes we come across jokes that somebody else has done and we didn't know about it. the fact that it's dark in the movie theater is something we all know and many comedians could make a joke out of but we wouldn't intentionally rip the joke from each other. Dane does though and that's why he's a sh*thead. although in this situation I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

It's a common misconception among those who aren't involved in stand-up, or those who don't truly know the game of stand-up, that comedians walk around using each others jokes. They think there are like 12 jokes that exist in the world and whoever tells them the best wins. Stand-up is almost solely based on the creativity, intelligence, and work ethic and when one comedian steals another comedian's joke they take all of the work and effort the other person put into writing and perfecting that joke and claim it as their own. If someone came to your office and saw a presentation you gave then he goes to the head of the company and gives that same presentation and claims it as his own, would you be more that a little angry if he got a promotion and was heralded for his brilliance? When Dane gets huge money for doing material he didn't come up with it's the same thing. He is taking money out of the pockets of the people who actually had the idea. Comedians have no safety net like musicians have if someone steals a riff from a song(Vanilla Ice- it's not the same as under pressure). Comedy is truly the "red-headed step child of entertainment".

Dude its observational comedy, EVERYONE knows about that stuff, for real who hasnt had trouble finding someone or where they was sitting in a movie theater? But a few different comedians talk about it, so its gonna seem like they stole from eachother when they didnt...

I see it also like magic tricks:

How many magicians have you seen do the same card tricks? Cup and ball? Sleight of hand?

"Any last words, punk?"
"Yeah, your wife is good in bed."
"So, you're a liar, too?"

Words arn't magic tricks.

Firstly, Don't come into a board claiming you're a comedian...just dont, its sad and just cause your friends think you are funny, does not make you a comedian. It makes you the clown of the group. You aren't getting paid and you haven't released any albums, stop it.

Secondly. No one said anything about Dane when the Retaliation album went double platinum. No stealing there. Even Louis C.K. admitted that while he had the same type of jokes, comedians usually make the same jokes, since theres a certain type of topical humor that makes huge groups laugh. It's also kind of ridiculous that out of a 29 bit 2 disc CD, only two bits where focused on.
