The Troubles represented in Rebus?

I am writing my thesis on how the Troubles are represented in British detective series. In the synopsis it says that Rebus has fought in Northern Ireland before returning to Scotland and being a detective. Would some of you know whether it actually can be seen or is spoken about in the series? (and if so in which episode?)

I have come this far for now;

George Gently - (2008) se 1 ep 1.The Burning Man.
Foyle's War -(2002) se 2 ep. 2. Among the few.
Silent Witness - (2004) se 8 ep 1. A time to Heal.
Waking the dead - (2004) se 4 ep 2. False Flag
Waking the dead - (2008) se 7 ep 2. Missing Persons
Murphy's Law (not sure whether it is only a back story or plays an active role in the series)
