Series 3?
Anyone know if there will be another series? Last night's episode was a bit of an anticlimax.
The Beeb is forcing the creators into a Gervais-Merchant situation: an hour-long special instead of a full third series. *sigh* Well, at least it's something, and they'll have a chance to wrap it up properly. http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2008/oct/02/bbc.television1

They commissioned about 9 series of 2 Pintszzzz, arguably one of the worst shows ever made and they cancel a fantatsic show like Pulling?

i couldn't agree more! what is wrong with this world where utter *beep* like 2 pints of larger get 9 series and this brilliant, FUNNY comedy gets cancelled when its gaining popularity and really impressing people. just mind blowing stupidity on the part of the bbc.. i'm disappointed in them. lets hope channel 4 do pick this up (unlikely though) as it would be perfect for that channel.

The Two Pints comment is spot on though - as much as the Beeb want to carve out an identity for BBC3, if they keep on commissioning shows like 2 Pints it just dashes any chance of the station maintaining much credibility.
The only good thing I can say about it, is that Pulling at least has managed a lot of character development in it's two series so far. I think, despite the more ridiculous moments of Pulling (which aren't a lot to be honest)it's got some rather true to life characters in there. There are people like Karen about there and I'm sure a lot of individuals approaching a certain age like Donna go through that panic. I'm sure a scaled down final act to the show in the form of this special will still cap the whole thing of with justice deserved, but it'd be nice at least if Sharon and Dennis got another shot at a new series.
Because Pulling is about three untrendy real thirtysomething females it no longer fits in with BBC3's demographic of trendy twentysomethings and so that's why Coming of Age and Grown-Ups have got new series but Pulling has only get a one hour special and then that's it.

If Pulling doesn't meet BBC3's new objectives put it on BBC2...
This was a brilliant show - totally gutted the Beeb don't have the balls to stump up for Series 3. Truly original.
Maybe Channel 4 do deserve some of the license fee after all if the BBC don't want to create original series like this....
