So Underrated! Its a gem of a movie!

ONLY GOD CAN JUDGE ME

There are certain movies that just feel like you know the characters or could know them or would like to know them. This movie feels like that to me. It's on cable and I've had on in the background many times after having watched it.

Hugh Dancy looks pretty great here too; he looks much better with stubble.

God; my sentiments exactly. Some movies just have a certain 'truth', and this is one of them. It's the kind I would go back to time and time again if I was ever feeling a little lost or sad, or both.

I only do it with superheroes.

I think Im falling for Hugh Dancy. Love Jimmy Smitts as always

I agree that it needs a little bit higher, maybe a 7.7, but it's not that underrated. It WAS a gem and I absolutely loved it!

This is the way the world ends. Not with a whimper, but with a bang.

it's one of my favorite moive.

I agree! Absolutely underrated. People nowadays tend to overlook movies. This was definitely a feel-good movie. Especially the ending. LOVE THIS MOVIE TO BITS!

90210 && Idol freak!

I agree. I saw it once early this summer and became completely addicted to it. I've since watched it a ridiculous number of times. It's so fun and romantic and uplifting-- I never get sick of it. I couldn't even find it to buy anywhere. My friend actually bought it for me at a grocery store no less, which I kind of took personally (that it was sold in one) because I love it. It's funny because each of the characters, save for a few, sort of annoys me a bit in some way, but nonetheless I can watch this movie over and over.

Are you watching closely?

reply

I agree.

Me too!

This movie wasn't something I'd normally watch, but after seeing it for the first time, I'd probably watch it again. It was a very good movie and one that you would kind of cuddle up on the couch and watch. I also don't like to read and it kind of made me want to pick up a Jane Austen book and start reading.

I agree, I was surprised that so less people rated it in imdb.

I really liked this film, too. Despite being an Austen fan, I somehow avoided watching this film for some time...But I have watched it several times since.
I also liked the music, and the cast was very interesting as well. About the storyline - I was pleased the Prudie´s character didn´t end with that student, but made things up between her and her hudband Dean, e.g.
In short I would recommend literary lovers to watch this piece.

There is no charm equal to tenderness of heart.
