I saw the trailer this looks good to me. Some of my favourite comedic actors have got bits in it, too. Why the low rating? The reviews are positive. Normally I put a lot of faith in IMDb ratings but 2.1 seems unrealistic...

It's not accurate at all. The formula is skewed to hurt indie film. Look at the breakdown you'll see there are tons of 10's, 9's, 8's and only a few 1's (and I mean, come on, does it really look like the worst thing ever made). And I bet you a million bucks that none of those low ratings have even seen the movie. It's only played a few festivals.... But I'm biased.

it doesn't really follow typ rom com formula yet it's a rom com so ppl who see dis type of stuph will be disappointed 2 say da least

castin is all wrong. gurl cud be cuter. rockstar guy is not bad.

cant say i hate it but cant say i like it either. at least endin is not cliched.

I disagree with you about the girl. I think she's crazy hot and really good. I'm glad there are some things you didn't hate about it. Did you see it in NY?

We thought the girl was great. Good acting from both her and the rock star boyfriend. The script wasn't bad: I didn't mind the "rules". For us, the lead actor was overacting to the pint that it was unwatchable and painful. Then, when he became somewhat normal, near the end of the film, it was even more obvious how unwatchable his character was at the beginning. Yes, some guys are really like that, but the ones that get the girls are not. Those guys have SOME charm.

No, it's that bad. (I tend trust ratings a lot more than trailers, in this case it's right.)

IMDb is totally not being straightforward here.

If you hover over the score, it says, "average of 3.8/10"
If you click on the score, it says, "weighted average of 3.8/10"
If you click on the weighted average score, it says, "The exact methods we use will not be disclosed."

Is this some sort of joke IMDb?

I felt like some of the characters were a bit stereotypical, but they weren't so bad that you couldn't suspend disbelief. I really liked the ending though, because it was kind of atypical for movies, but somewhat more realistic towards real life.

yeah the rating is not far off at all I actually laughed my ass off at the book store part, but at time it became a little formulaic. Glad the ending ended the way it did, i say a solid 7/10. Think martin starr should have gotten back with his ex fiance also, he got sort of an unrealistic happy ending
