Total CRAP
My wife really wanted to see this when it came out. To say we were very disappointed by it is an understatement. The only good thing about the movie was the scenery. The script was weak and the comedy was very forced. The acting wasn't so great either. It didn't help that we're both Greek-American (she's first-generation, I'm second), so we had a bit of vested interest in the movie being good.
We were surprised that the movie was pulled from the theaters so quickly, so I told her the movie was most likely poorly attended and might just be a clunker. I knew it was panned by most critics, but I never pay attention to critics as long as the movie entertains me.
We found the movie online and decided to watch it. The first thing we cringed at was the bus driver calling himself "Poupi" Kakkas. My first thought was a 2nd grader wrote the script with a name like this. It's as funny as Ben Dover, Dick Hertz, etc. I would have laughed at this when I was a teenager, but not now that I'm 40.
I sometimes wonder how big a money truck is needed to get veterans like Richard Dreyfuss to do movies like this.
