Why I loved this movie...

Okay, so it wasn't exactly your "movie of the year", but I loved this movie because I myself am Greek, and because it's a feel good movie that I can turn on whenever I'm feeling down or upset. I love Nia Vardalos, and she looks exceptionally beautiful in this film, especially for her age...

I think most people are missing the simplicity of this film - the point of it is to make you feel good, the atmosphere of Greece, the culture, the beauty, the romance, is all a part of what makes the Mediterranean a magical place. Greece in itself is a part of chronological events that happened long ago, and it will continue to be for ages because of it's history. For those/they who say Vardalos was bad at acting in this film, need to recheck themselves, because if people want to see bad acting, they need to look into the actors such as Ashlee Simpson and etc... who are painful to watch. Nia, I can say, at least keep it real to their culture and she's proud to be a part of the Greek heritage, and I personally thought she did an excellent job acting in the movie.

I only wish I was fortunate enough to live in Greece, and settle there as my primary housing location. In Europe, they work to live, not live to work, whereas the United States, we tend to reverse that saying & spend our entire lives dedicated to our jobs. We should learn a thing or two from this movie, and realize that Europeans could teach us a thing or two about our lives here in America, where we shouldn't take life so seriously, but instead, to live our lives to the fullest extent.

Bravo sou Nia... you've done it again :o)

I agree. I thought it was a little far-fetched how they all came together as friends at the end of the movie, but I really enjoyed it for what it was. It was funny, romantic, and anyone who's had a really bad day at work might be able to identify with her character.
