A few questions

Watched this last night & was really looking forward to it but ended up being very disapointed. I'm not one to trash TV or Movies in IMDB so i'll just ask a few qusetions.

1. What was the point of the whole Bruce dying thing? Then the issue with Ray being really upset & him never being seen again in the entire film.

2. What happened to the girl that Bryan choked & then punched in the face? Again never mentioned.

3. Why did'nt Jack just let the boy go when Peter was gone for such a while,he easliy had enough time to do it.

4. What was wrong with Amber Heard on the beach at the end. It's being said that she had AIDS but in the previous scene with her in when she was on the phone with Kim Basinger she looked & seemed fine. In the next scene she was grey, covered in blotches & blind. How long had passed between scenes because she took a pretty big nosedive & how come Graham just left her there like that? There's no way i'd leave my girlfriend that ,would anyone?

Then there was the whole unresolved issues with Winona Ryder & Billy Bob. Chris Isak & son,i do realise that filmakers don't have to wrap everything up in a nice bow but even a small bit clarity would have been appreciated.

Well, I didn't read the book which I suppose would clarify these questions better, but here's what I thought.

1. I think it was there to show the reaction of those people to the death of their friend. Most of them don't really care (only Graham a little) except for the guy that Bryan hated and despised. That was actually a really sad and disturbing moment for me. Emotional guy surrounded by bunch of heartless cold fu ckers. There is probably no point to show Ray again because his role of a weak, but emotional and human person was shown - he doesn't belong to the story of those heartless, drugged, bored rich people.

2. Again, this was there just to ilustrate how was Bryan fu cked up. He was drugged and drunk all the time, having sex with strangers. Then his exwife didn't let him to talk to his child, which completely erased the meaning of his life. He was filled with anger and hopelessness and regular sex didn't help him, he had to hurt somebody like he was hurt by somebody else. We don't know how far he went, if he killed her or not but even that is quite possible, his people would get rid of her next morning like nothing ever happened.

3. I suppose he was afraid of Peter showing up while there is no kid in the bathtup but the package was not delivered. He thought that Peter would maybe kill him because he screwed up his deal. This way he fu cks up the deal also though... I don't know, I guess I don't quite understand this either.

4. No idea, maybe the progress of the disease was sudden. Maybe passed more time. A film doen't really answer this... I think he left her there because she was jsut finished, if she had AIDS, then there's really no way how to cure her, so it doesn't really matter if she goes to hospital right know or stays on the beach for a little longer. If it was some other sexually transmitted disease though, he should have taken her to the hospital.

Yeah, Winona Ryder and Billy Bob may have gotten back together. In the bathroom scene earlier in the movie it was quite clear that she had feelings for him too. Now when he finally got rid of his wife, there shouldn't be much to stop their romance. Divorce would be quite painful because of the money loss though.

The story of a father and his son was closed quite well I think. We've seen the father trying to get to his son throughout the film but with no success. The son may not have been totally against that, but after the dinner scene, he realized once again what an idiot was his father and that he can never accept him.

Hope this helped a bit and I am sorry for my poor english.

and to add to the brian metro girl situation, in the book, they both had beaten each other during the sex, he knocked a tooth out of the girl actually, but she survived and in the book, he had always done stuff like that, his manager even referred to a situation where he had hurt a girl so badly she was wheelchair bound for a year or half a year i cant remember

"So this is permanence... love's shattered pride..."
