What we know/dont know. THE BIG THREAD

Ok I wanted to start this thread so that we could all examine what we can conclude from first 8 episodes of this series, and also the things we dont know. I'm going to post 10 things we know and 10 things we dont know and everyone after me do the same (just add as much as you can)

Known:
1) Everyone in Meadowlands is involved enrolled in some sort of witness protection program.
2) Meadowlands is part of some "experiment" with the code name "Cape Wrath".
3) Samantha is more than just a "handler", she seems to have a much larger role in Cape Wrath as her father was the founder of its principle theory.
4) Some sort of board of people (probably the ones funding this experiment) are beginning to question Cape Wrath's success.
5) Cape Wrath is very, VERY isolated, surrounded by hundreds...maybe thousands of miles of desert.
6) Jack Donnely is dead. Danny/Eddie murdered him.
7) Samantha thinks that she is Uma, a girl her father found her in a box that she'd been kept in since birth, she had no memories and no sense of her own being.
8) Jesebel "left" and "returned" to Meadowlands for starvation detox. (weather or not she really left is unknown)
9) After Jack Donnely requested to leave, Samantha asked a mysterious man to assassinate him.
10) Some of the experiments in Meadowlands involve the mind and memory.
--------------
Unknown:
1) Location of Meadowlands in the universe.
2) What Cape Wrath is trying to accomplish.
3) Weather or not Samantha truly was Uma.
4) Weather or not Nikki/Zoe and Shawn/Marc are truly Danny/Eddie's children. (We know that the doctor has a sick obsession with Evelyn and this could have fueld him into lying about the test results, however im pretty sure they arent his children--this is still unkown though. Another thing that could be affecting this is Samantha and her cronies. Was that really Danny's sperm being tested? etc.)
5) What exactly happened to the last man who tried to "leave Meadowlands".
6) Does Danny have enough gas to get back to Meadowlands?
7) How long has Cape Wrath been underway?
8) How did Samantha leave Meadowlands and return? By Hellecopter? By Car? Surely the townsfolk would have noticed this.
9) What goes on in that fake gas station.
10) Who was that girl who spoke to Zoe at the gas station, did she really know her? And what did she talk to Samantha about?

And finally. The Big number 11.

Will there be a second season?
That is unclear as of now, but us fans can still hope.

Since you covered most everything, I can't help but turn this into a joke.

Known:

1. Meadowlands is the safest place in the world.

2. The safest place in the world is not comparatively safer than any other place the world.

3. In witness protection you are still allowed to use your real name as the name of your bar.

4. Zoe Brogan is your last hope.

5. Fly spray goes fast, keep an extra bottle so you don't run out.

Unknown:

1. How is a temperate climate very similar to England supported on a large scale in the middle of the desert?

2. Who the heck is this Kate Roth they keep talking about?

reply

lol and where ARE Zoe's heals?

Here's my theory: Ormond was working for those who run the Cape Wrath experiment. The fact that he was watching the Brogans prior to the fire that resulted in them having to move to Meadowlands indicates that the family had already been chosen to participate in the experiment. The fire was staged to provide the excuse needed to move them.

I think Cape Wrath was being bankrolled by various North American & European governments and/or corporations. Meadowlands is intended to be a perfect microcosm of typical western society, and people are selected to go there because they fit a particular psychological profile. Some of the inhabitants (such as Brenda and Jack Donnelly) are genuinely under witness protection, but for the majority, their contact with criminals or decent into unlawful activity was carefully faked and stage-managed by the authorities, in order to place them in Meadowlands. Unable to leave, the inhabitants of the town are a captive community whose responses can be studied and analysed, like laboratory mice in a cage.

My belief is that the intention of Cape Wrath is to find a way to keep the population of entire countries peacefully under control. The aim of the experiment is to programme them so they don't ask questions, believe what they're told, mind their own business, don't protest, don't riot, don't commit crime, buy what products they're told to, vote for whoever they're told to, etc.

Thats interesting, I think that it also has something to do with altering their state of mind. Samantha's father was talking about how if you change the way you think you can alter your mind, and then him and Samantha were talking about how Uma was a blank slate and how they influenced her state of mind.

Known: it's a bad show

Unknown: Your ability to spell whether.

Sorry, I lost my train of thought, if I even had one...
