My Theory on Meadowlands - Spoilers

I have just finished watching the series, it was good tv, but like a lot of first series it probably would have got better/more intriguing in the second series..(?)

I thought that as the final shot happened and we see meadowlands is an oasis in a desert, that perhaps this 'psycological experiement' was just that, and all this happened in their minds. I sort of expected a scene just after Danny realises he cant escape, of him in a hospital hooked up to virtual reality systems, in a room full of the meadowlands people who are also hooked up. Then people like Samantha go in and out of the virtual world...sort of like the matrix.

This struck me as the place where meadowlands is cant exist, a subburb in a desert is impossible, so its fantasy, or a made up reality they are in. I think that would make the experiment that samantha and her dad talked about seem like a much bigger thing, and would give the second series much more to expose/explore.
