How do you explain this guy?

I would explain his being Dracula as shows being influenced by popular movie villians, such as sharks, flying sharks or anything else showing up in other mediums when Jaws was popular. they never bothered trying to explain why an Earth animal, whether altered with wings or chicken legs, would be present on another planet.

His being Asian, equally obvious, the sudden inclusion of 'minorities' (granted we also had this with the John Henry fellow, but black characters were always angry and ready to fight like that with alot to say as well).

But Asians, Indians, Hispanics are washed over, like the Star Trek set. We see they are a non-white, but there is never any stereotypical attachment to them.
