tough to get aussies into this show...

im australian and absolutely adore this show.

im trying to get my friends onto it, but when i tell them to watch it they think im talking about an overly aroused creature that will eat their babies...

seeing as it was alluded to in the show that the name had no meaning, i wonder why adam reed would choose frisky dingo, as it would potentially alienate australian viewers.

I don't see how the name of the show would alienate Australian viewers. Just because dingos are indigenous to Australia? The name stuck from a pre production concept, so it wasn't just a random name. From your post, it sounds like your friends tend to overly sexualize things, and can only think of a 30+ year old movie as their reference for Dingos.

The title plays with the names that law enforcement and military personnel use when spelling out words, or communicating random letters. The show was originally meant to be called Whiskey Tango (the letters "W" and "T"), after a group of super heroes called The Whiskey Tango Six, but the name was already in use. The super hero group, The Whiskey Tango Six, was dropped in pre-production. In this removed part of the show, Killface would insult The Whiskey Tango Six by calling them Frisky Dingo. Adam Reed got rid of the group, but kept the name.

ok, granted i totally forgot about the whiskey tango six conundrum, and you're right, it wouldnt alienate australians only, people worldwide could potentially be put off by the name.

but the point remains, i tell people to watch "frisky dingo" and they give me a WTF look.

just sucks is all :(

Are dingoes deeply offensive to the aussies? I think not. are they reminded somehow of that incident at Ayer's rock? and if so, because of that, they won't watch a cartoon with 'dingo' in the title? has to be the dumbest thing I've ever heard.
