I have no idea what the make of the van is, but can I just say, when the side of that van hit fell on that guy, I was in stitches for the rest of the movie. GOLD!
Hahaha

"You know what else is gross? Arghhhhhhhh broke a damn blood vessel!!!

They're conversions. We have specialist body people in the UK who outfit vans for use as ice cream vans, burger vans etc. In many rural settings in Europe you will find a similar van to the grocer's van which delivers to people who have no transport and no easy access to supermarkets.

As to the original make, I don't know. Quite possibly a Citroen.

reply

No, it's not Citroen. It is a Peugeot J7. I used to have one myself manyh moons ago, converted it into a camper van. This one in the movie is elongated.

There was an interior shot and I felt a stab of painful memory when I saw the dashboard with the awkward ashtray and the steering wheel. Took me back some thirty odd years.

I didn't know what make the van was until I saw it here and I must admit, I didn't much care because I fell in love with it from the very beginning!! When it fell on Lucienne, that was funny, when it fell on Fernand, brilliance! I'm not sure how hard it actually hit him when they filmed it but he timed his acting to perfection. PRICELESS!!! It was one of those times I was truly glad I was watching it on DVD as I knew I'd sit there and rewind/play over and over!

Thanks for letting us know make/model it was. I can relate to your seeing something like that and it flooding your mind with wonderful memories and sensory delight. Ah, the beauty of Cinema!
