MEN, would you want that style of clothes to come back??

Would you want the male 18th century style clothing to come back? esp from second half of 18th century? I actually think it looks pretty sweet. I mean obviously no one could pass as mentally sane if they wore it on a casual day no matter what anyone says, but I think it would be pretty sweet to live during the 18th century and wear those clothes^^

I mean take this Swedish monarch as an example:

anyone?

The clothes? Yes! The wigs? Pass.

Marion Cotillard and Keira Knightley are the most beautiful women on Earth.

Dude I think the wigs are part of what makes the overall look so kickass... You could always just have long natural hair like they had in the late 17th and early 18th century, looks sweet either way.

What I can say though is that this type of clothing would look retarded with short hair.

Long natural hair? Fine. Short hair? Fine. Bleached white hair wigs covered in talcum powder...kickass? Really? Looking 70 when you were 28 was kickass? Really? Sorry, cannot agree.

Ok dude u officially have no taste whatsoever. Short hair would look completely retarded with this type of clothing. I can just imagine a short-haired dude with 18th century clothing walking around like "DURRRR I'M A RETARD"

also(just to be a douche bag), Gustav III is 26 in the second pic, and he looks nowhere near 70. He looks.... 26.

And for the record, there were different color wigs, they didn't ALWAYS wear bleached white wigs. There were brown ones for example.

Funny answers (although I disagree with the "no taste whatsoever" part). What year would you guess were the Gustav III pic painted? I ask because I seem to remember short haired, non wig wearing men in Pride and Prejudice wearing similar clothes and they looked good. I would be for that.

Hey man, whatever floats ur boat I guess... I think it looks retarded with short hair.

And if u mean Pride and Prejudice, then it's not mid-late 18th century style clothing. That's more early-mid 19th century clothing. They dropped the style I personally like at the turn of the century=/

This is 18th century style: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/33/GeorgeIV1780.jpg

This is early 19th century style: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/25/King_George_IV_1809 .jpg

big difference

These pics above are ofcourse the less casual royal style, but the differences between the casual styles differentiate the same.

Kung, I bow to your obvious knowledge of the times.

That's a "heck no" for me. That's way too much fabric and way too many buttons to deal with. I also live in a place where it gets so hot and humid that I want to crawl out of my own skin. I can't imagine wearing clothes like that here. No thanks.

I like walking around in jeans and t-shirts. I don't feel the need to wrap myself up 'til I feel like a pig in a blanket.

judging by ur name, i'd guess u live in egypt ?

I love the way men dressed, I would love it so much if I had the chance to get dressed and look earnest the way men did back then, but now, I don't think so, since we have to drive and work, it wouldn't work out with that kind of clothes.
But don't get me wrong, I love it, and I would also prefer seeing women dress the way G did, they looked so beautiful and sexy !!!

Nah...you'd look like a yankee doodle dandie.
