If I read the postscript correctly at the end it stated that Georgiana gave her blessing to the Duke and Bess to marry, which they did after her death. So did G die before the Duke? I thought he was decades older than her and so I was hoping G would have the chance to marry her true love after the Duke's death. But, sadly, I guess, in real life it never goes the way we intend it to now does it...

shareThanks for that! I read not too long after my post that she died from a liver abscess. And I recall there was a scene in the film where Georgiana holds her right flank in pain and exclaims, "What's wrong with me?" which I think hinted at her untimely death.
shareJust to give you all the details, Georgiana died in 1806 at the age of 48.
That is young, by today's standards, but not so much in that era. The Duke was "only" 9 years older than she was. They married when he was 26 and she was 17, which again, was not considered that much of a gap in those days. Maybe not even today.
The Duke died 5 years later in 1811, at the age of 62, living 5 years after Georgiana's death. He married his second wife in 1809, and she was actually about 10 years younger than he.
