Peter and the Wolf is available from Netflix.

Netflix recently acquired "A Collection of 2007 Academy Award Nominated Short Films" DVD. Eight shorts are included, entries from both the animated and live action formats. No doubt folks can buy the item elsewhere too.

Imo most selections were too long, over a 1/2 hour for instance. Best of the live action group were "The Tonto Woman" and a wicked "Tanghi [Tango] Argentini". Missing from the disk were animations "My Walrus" and "Moya lyubov"; copyright issues apparently.

When I first discovered P&W on Youtube, gotta confess, I wasn't much impressed. But the beauty shines thru on a big TV.

Thank you so much for the information. I've wanted to see Peter & the Wolf for quite awhile now, but the dvd of the movie itself is only available in a region 2 video format. I thought all was lost, you truly made my day.

The film is also scheduled for stand-alone DVD release on December 9, 2008, from Magnolia Home Entertainment.
