Practical effects, practical effects, practical effects - everywhere!

Thank you so so much for using practical special effects (Werwolfs, blood and gore, Sam's face...)!
CGI is cheesy and over-used in movies today and practical effects-only movies are pretty rare.

Makers of this film, never forget: please go practical for Part 2 in 2015 too, it looks so much better!

I completely agree... practical is SO much better than CGI.

Love all the effects.

Hear hear! The special effects were lovely. Nice to see in an era of CGI crap.

*yawn* The wolves looked goofy but since it's a lighthearted film I didn't mind.

Nothing wrong with quality CGI. Wonder why so many are snobby about it.

I don't mind it, most CGI is good and can help create things that might not otherwise be possible... but, horror movies sometimes just overdo it when they could just go practical, which usually looks more realistic in some cases.

There werewolves looked terrible, Sam's face looked awful. Other practical effects were fine but werewolves and Sam's face could've used CGI for sure.

I enjoy CGI effects as well. I think Underworld movies mixed it well (same company doing werewolves in TrT blew it).

I'm pretty sure there was some CGI in the werewolves. I think it was a mix of CGI and practical effects.

It's nice to see a modern horror film that isn't full of CGI effects. I think one of the reasons people love Trick 'r Treat is because of the practical effects. It's a nod to the old school horror films that inspired it.
