Why didn't Sam... [contains spoilers]

Why didn't Sam kill Kreeg, and why did he take that chocolate bar? He tortured him pretty severely, but once it came time to finally kill him, he just took the chocolate bar and left him alone. I guess that something must have flown over my head because I did not understand that at all. Is that the point of the thing, not to know? (You get bonus points if you understand that reference.)

I think the reason was that Sam was punishing people for ignoring Halloween traditions, like giving out candy to trick r treaters. Once he "gave" him the candy bar, he was safe.

reply

Yeah but it wasn't even kreegs candy bar..he didn't give out candy. It just so happened to be there .

reply

Yeah idk, it didnt make 100% sense to me. Sam was the one who brought that candy bar to the house, so technically it was already his. He left Kreeg alone once Kreeg gave it to him though, so the movie is implying that Kreeg doing that is what saved him.

reply

Sam didn't bring that candy bar to the house, one of the kids that got scared by Kreeg's dog in the beginning of the segment left his bag there and Kreeg took inside.

reply

So why did he kill the woman at his beginning, I'm pretty sure she was celebrating the Halloween tradition

reply

She blew out the pumpkin, even though her husband protested against her doing so.

reply

Oh yeah, I forgot that haha thanks

reply

This. He even knew, that was why since he starts handing out candy afterwards.

reply

No. He left revenge to the dead who were on the bus. Last scene makes this clear.

reply

Dead kids, just when he thought he was safe, nope.
