Rhonda was a bitch.

how could she let them just die?
so what if they pulled a prank on her? Get over it bitch!
She didn't even send the elevator back down for them.
so if she thought it was a prank again, how in the hell were they going to get back up?
Those werewolves chicks should have ran that little bitch over!!

Personal vengeance for the "prank" was irrelevant to her. She celebrated the holiday accordingly. Her companions did not. It's simple.

In fact, she may have been the only character who was cognizant and in-tune with the rules.

I couldn't believe when I read his filmography that he played a toilet (no joke) in According to Jim

She most likely assumed that they were pulling a second prank on her. Just look at it from her perspective. Shes chilling at home enjoying the holiday that means a lot to her. These guys come along and pretend to want to hang out, but then drag her out to that area. They set up an extremely cruel joke to scare her. She hits her head on a rock and is probably in a lot of pain. She gets in the elevator to leave because shes done hanging out with them, and then they start yelling again.

What would you do? At this point you've already been humiliated and there is a strong chance that this is just round 2 of the same stuff. The girl leading it even admitted that she wanted to keep going with the joke, so its not out of the question that they might drag it out more. Leaving them down there is mean, but I'm sure that there are alternate ways to get out with ladders or other routes. She also might have changed her mind in the morning to go rescue them.

I think she is perfectly justified in leaving them down there as a screw you for pulling that prank on her.

All of the above assumes that she is not aware of the real danger down there though. It is definitely not cool if she knew that they would get killed if she left them down there. The joke that they played is mean, but it certainly doesnt not warrant a death penalty.

Oh, she knows the other kids are toast. She waves goodbye to them as the elevator goes up, and after she exits with her lit pumpkin the sound of their dying screams doesn't even break her stride.

I do not think the children deserved to die. They were hardly evil. Macy was a bitch but still stopped when asked. I thought what Rhonda did was rather cruel. But you know, children die in horror films.

It's a movie get over it

They pranked her and in the end got killed, was their own fault for breaking tradition.

I loved the Rhonda character. My only gripe with the writing of this segment is that she allows Schrader to die along with the other kids, even though he was the one actually looking out for her and comforting her when he saw she was hurt and scared. I didn't think she would suddenly turn THAT cruel. But, it was also a pretty good twist that I didn't see coming.
