Oscar's father?

Did I miss something, or did they never say who it was? Was he just supposed to be some kind of deadbeat that FO'ed after knocking Rose up?

I kind of like that they didn't explain this. It really made the whole "bastard son" scene feel a lot more real. But that's just me and my movie-realness-ness...

This is gonna *beep* do for him what Jade did for David Caruso.

I thought it was pretty much implied that Mac was the father - Rose called him immediately after Oscar got expelled from school. Also, that provides somewhat of an explanation why he tries to make things right (well, other than wanting to bone her, but his interest in her own financial well-being wouldn't be rooting from that).

I honestly never knew Mac was the father until reading it on here, and I don't remember them ever saying this in the movie. If Mac cared about Rose and Oscar's financial problems and wanted to still see Rose so much, why didn't he ever want to see his son? That doesn't make any sense to me. Also if they had a son together, why would his wife come up and act like Rose was a total b*tch? I mean (if Mac is really the dad) Rose had a son with the woman's husband before they were married at all. I wouldn't think she would have any right to question their meeting each other if she assumed it was regarding Oscar.

the force is strong in this one

Oscar's father was not explained in the film.I don't think that Mac is the father considering Rose never explained Oscar's situation after he got kicked out of school and she never asked for money when she needed to send him to a special education school. But still,Mac no doubt gave her the idea of going into the biohazard removal business.
