Message from Diana Maria Riva (Vivy) re: Renewal

Just had this bulletin from Diana Maria Riva (who plays Vivy) over @ MySpace:

Side Order of Life Fans .... RePOST! Body: HELLLOOOOO MY CAMPAIGNING COMRADES!!!!! YOU ARE SO EFFECTIVE.... Sorry for the silence but I was on location and was not able to check in..Again, the downside of running this page personally vs. having someone else do it... but I rather do it! ANY WORD??? Many of you have been dying to know if we have been renewed. We have NO WORD as of yet from LIFETIME. The ratings were the same this past weekend (slipped maybe alittle) and of course, that is what they look at first. HOWEVER< as most of you know we were up against DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES ,FOOTBALL, COLD CASE and so many others and we really fought to stay alive and essentially , we did. Our loyal core of viewers ,you , stayed the course. I hope you found the it to be a worthy payoff. The BEST NEWS out of all this is your blogging!!!! It increased by ,at least, TRIPLE!!!! YOu did an AMAZING job spreading the word and sharing your heartfelt thoughts. And I believe that it is YOUR BLOGGING and phonecalls that have kept them from giving us the axe at this point. Six months ago this might have been a different story, but with the success of ARMY WIVES, the bar has been set very high... THAT BEING SAID>>>Army Wives NEVER had the kind of competition we had. It was Spring/summer. They were'nt up against anything.. Desperate Housewive, Army Wives and SIde Order.. have pretty much the same audience. So, Army had the benefit of not being tested against DESPERATE but we,unfortuantely did. BUT I"M TELLING YOU...They could have made a decision a week ago, and I believe they are heavily contemplating because they are hearing YOUR VOICES!!!!! SO PLEASE dont stop... I am not sure how much longer our SIDE ORDER page will be up on LIFETIMETV.COM so blogg and spread the word to blog until they cant hear us anymore..I TRULY believe it is the one thing keeping SIDE ORDER in the game.. WWW.LIFETIMETV.COM I am going off of the fuel you all have given me :) ALL My BEST DIANA MARIA RIVA

Another Update ...

ONE WEEK OFF THE AIR AND I FEEL OUT OF TOUCH!!!

BUT HERE IS AN UPDATE...

NO NEWS as OF YET... BUT.... I know that Side order is being positivly considered for a second season.. I do have absolute good reason to believe that they are listening to you and your blogs. It seems SIDE ORDER is on a tip of a peak that can go fall one way or the other. So, PLEASE CONTINUE TO SPREAD THE WORD TO BLOG so that LIFETIME might be pushed over the peak in SIDE ORDER OF LIFE'S FAVOR!! :)

I know LIFETIME was happy with our show, they supported us greatly while filming, But,I am telling you, hearing YOUR voices and sharing your thoughts with LIFETIME is playing a key factor in the decision making.

So keep on doing the fantastic job of spreading the word so that it reaches those fans that have not gotten around to blogging yet...

STRENGTH IN NUMBERS!!!!... and boy am I happy to have you all in our corner..

IT IS ,as always, WITH GREAT GRATITUDE

Question: I'm a faithful reader of yours, and I'm hoping that you might share what you've heard about the possibility of Lifetime's Side Order of Life returning for a second season. It didn't seem to get much attention after its premiere, but I found it to be a charming little show for Sunday evenings to help me ease back into the work week. I particularly enjoyed Diana-Maria Riva's performance as Vivy. It was great to see a strong yet vulnerable woman fighting a devastating disease with such grace and aplomb, not to mention being treated as sexy and desirable without being skeletal-thin! There was enough resolution in the finale that I can accept it as the series ending, but I would enjoy checking in to see how these characters have proceeded with their lives. Any word on its fate?— Sara Anne

Matt Roush: No word yet. Lifetime is currently in development mode, shooting two pilots (one with Lorraine Bracco and one with Beau Bridges and Anne Archer), and I'm told that once they're completed, the programmers will decide which and how many of these shows will get picked up. I admit I didn't keep up with Side Order of Life, but from what I saw, it looked like a good fit for Lifetime. As for the network's breakout summer hit, Army Wives, it will be back in March-April for six episodes to close out the official first season, and Season 2 will kick off in June (presumably with at least one of the new or returning shows).
