Availability of this film?

I'm wondering if this film has made it to any US film festivals or if it is otherwise available (VHS, DVD, etc.) Thanks.

reply

Probably not for a few years. It took the film "Pulgasari" (executive produced by North Korean dictator) over 10 years to be shown in other nations outside of North Korea and South Korea.

See you in the funnies.

TO Charles Variations: This is not a political forum site, so please keep your personal evaluations of leaders of other countries to yourself. Thank you.

The film will be available on DVD in France from appr. February 2008 - I received this infomation from the French company that has the distribution rights in Europe.

TO Pravda: I can state my opinions on whatever I want. The point of the post was to say that it probably wont be in the US for a while, do u really think it would?

Then you go and say somehting about France, we're not even talking about France. He was asking about the U.S. Is it because i said the word "Dictator?" My post wasn't even about him. What would it be more "appropriate" for you if i had said "leader"

reply

Actually it´s: "Dear Leader Comrade Generalissimo Kim Jong Il the brilliant statesman, political genius, prodigious humanist, prolific author, intellectual giant, invincible military commander and greatest scientific mind in the world"
And no, I didn´t make that up.

"Did I leave the gas on? No, I´m a @#¤%ing squirrel!"

reply

Hahaha, yea I'm quite aware of his full title. I dont really know if any of that is true...

reply

I think "prodigious humanist" is pretty accurate, I mean, how could you argue with that?

"Did I leave the gas on? No, I´m a @#¤%ing squirrel!"

reply

Oh yeah, he's very humanitarian.

Guys, get a life, will you? Just read for yourselves all the nonsense that you wrote here above. Are you all unemplpoyed with too much spare time or something? The guy asked if this film will be available on DVD.I replied that as far as know, it will be. It shouldn't matter in the US or France; nowadays with internet shops I get my films from around the world, if I need them.

reply

Wait...PRAVDA...now i understand, I read that name so many times in my Young Stalin book.

At this moment, it's been posted at North-Korea's official Youtube channel ( https://www.youtube.com/user/rodrigorojo1 ).

You can find the movie at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jd55GS04LUo .

reply

It is available on YouTube with English subtitles, just search for it. Interesting for it's unusually subtle propaganda content (for a North Korean film), but not quite ready to join the Korean Wave just yet.

reply

So, that was subtle propaganda for a North Korean film? I'd hate to see what passes for less subtle....
