Show has gotten so much better this year.

Granted past years have had one or two incredible episodes, but this year everything feels more consistently mature and grown up (evil clown-man aside). It feels like there are fewer goofy aliens (the Shansheeth may look goofy but they were anything but in the episode), and more character-driven stories. I was especially surprised that this week's Empty Planet episodes were such a strong followup to the great Death of the Doctor episodes. And that bit of very-Doctor like proclaiming in the second part of the pilot episodes with Luke and friends was great. I like both RTD and Moffant and am sick of whiny fanboys having to bash one or the other, but it's clear RTD is putting a lot more effort into this series than he did when he was still doing Doctor Who. Great to have a series that sits proudly alongside Doctor Who this year rather than one that's just the "little kids version".
