I kept thinking he was going to stay with SJ and join the group at the end, as sort of a temporary replacement for Luke.

Was he the lanky skinny one, if so god i found him annoying and pointless.

I also had the fear he was going to be kept on as a main character - all his bleatering about changing and his parents - I was ready to switch channels to avoid the moment. Luckily that taxi driver was on the meter and didn't leave him time to say anything.
