Why not make Clyde and Rani the Doctor's new companions? The audience already fell in love with their characters, so why not make them part of Doctor Who now?

Could be done the doctor could pick them up a few years in the future so the actors are their real ages. No reason why they still have to be school age. I wouldn't mind seeing maria as companion either. But cylde annd rani are more likely I guess

I agree Luke would be a very good choice as a companion as he already is up there with the knowledge and I don't think Sarah Jane would have any concerns with him travelling with the Doctor as long as he was not abandoned.
