Not Going Out vs Miranda

Two shows that are quite similar in terms of format and humour. Both witty, both clever, but which, in your opinion, is better?

Not Going Out had much better episodes and even individual series than Miranda, but Miranda didn't get a chance to fall off a very steep cliff like Not Going Out did after series 5. I'd have to give it to Miranda simply for knowing not to stretch itself too far.

"Gizza job! I can do that!"

....blimey, well humour is of course infinitely subjective and everyone's entitled to their own opinion but I'm genuinely surprised anyone can think that 'Not Going Out' and 'Miranda' are even broadly comparable tbh considering that the former is written by hugely talented people whilst the latter epitomises 'comedy by committee' at almost its worst and most desperate.

Indeed though I like Miranda Hart as person, 'Miranda' - from what I saw of it, had enough decent, original material for roughly three episodes of Series 1 with the rest of the show arguably thieving jokes/scenarios wholesale from the likes of 'Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em' (especially the 'desperate for cheap laughs' pratfalls that 'Miranda' became increasingly reliant upon) and other, vastly superior comedies of yesteryear that 'Miranda's' writers probably hoped their audience hadn't seen!

Before I'm reminded otherwise, yes I know 'Miranda' was a big success for the BBC but then there's never been any accounting for taste.... 
