Season 8 (spoilers)

Is anyone disappointed that Lee and Lucy already have 3 children and we never got to see any of it. Just seems odd that they've jumped ahead so much

reply

People theorized that the BBC were just going to use scripts that were written for Outnumbered before the kids got too old so maybe thats way...

Will be interesting to see what this new shows like as the whole dynamic will have changed

reply

I'm pretty sure they're doing another series of Outnumbered as well...

I know Lee Mack had plans to make a british version of "Everybody loves Raymond" and this sounds like it fits right in to that plan. It's weird that we missed so much of their married life when we got to be there for their long journey of getting together.

Blimey, judging by the date of the OP Season 8's radical overhaul was evidently known months prior to transmission.....for me though I'd somehow managed to avoid all announcements of it returning as well as advanced publicity/previews and as a consequence only found out it was coming back by chance one week prior, with no warning that things had changed so much!

So I watched the first episode last night and naturally was rather shocked......what the hell happened?! All I can ambiguously say is that such changes are very 'brave'....with having three (three ffs!), young, under-talented, annoying kids in central roles very brave....

Perhaps the characters had to evolve after so long but......jeez.

Naturally I'll watch the rest of the series as the writing/humour is still top notch but that was a real shock and will take some time to get used to!

Hah i was the exact same, hadnt heard it was coming back till about a week before and then i was like 'where the hell did three kids come from' and they are all like 6 years old or something like that

It looks like the show jumped forward in time or maybe the previous episodes were set in the past!

It's that man again!!

It was such a odd feeling watching it.

No Daisy, no flat, Lee working, being married with three children (and we saw none of it). Just a weird vibe to it. Lee Mack got what he wanted but such a complete change in format will take awhile to get used t
I'll expect we'll get used to it
