The SWAT-commander's experience from Afghanistan

Hello everybody,

The biggest problem I've had with this show is the fact that the FEMALE SWAT-commander is talking out of her arse!

Women are not allowed in combat roles. Therefore, however a horrible experience they encounter, they can never have an experience as bad as fighting men.

PS: And the fact that the stupid-ass writers don't know that if you serve in the USMC you ain't no soldier, you're a MARINE! DS

yeah that last part about them calling each other soldier when they were marines did erk me.

Its great that you picked up on that. I love watching movies and television shows where there are military references, because they usually get it all wrong. Its quite frustrating. You think the writers would consult someone who has military experience to make sure they have the facts straight.

Finally someone notices that when I said that same thing in a post a YEAR ago!

What a horrible and unlikable character she was. Arrogant self righteous bitch who thinks she is so much better than the rest,a real hypocrite. I was disappointed that she survived.

I wasn't crazy about her either but I had to reply to your post. Funniest thing I've read in weeks.

Thanks!

You seem to be confused. Simply because females are not assigned to combat arms roles does not mean that they are "not allowed in combat roles" and do not see combat. Look up SGT Leigh Ann Hester and then tell me that women can never have an experience as bad as fighting men. I personally know a number of female soldiers whom have seen their share of combat.

I know this was a while ago. But I've never understood why women aren't allowed in combat roles. In the U.S. especially if they meet the requirements. A lot of other countries such as Canada, Australia allow women to serve in combat roles. Originally not on special forces (Such as SAS, Navy Seals) But now every role can be.

Women cannot fill direct combat role but they would still see action overthere.

I remember the clerk that were attached to our platoon and everytime she was here, we gone straight to hell. about 5 or 6 times that blonde clerk visit us in the field, we ending up getting ambushes every night. We blame her and her blonde hair for that, we always joke about it, "Those Iraqi wanted to capture her so bad they try especially hard night after night during her visit." Because the Insurgent could see her blonde hair a mile away form that humvee she drove....

There are a lot of women serve with distinction in the field even thought. I think it is not only in US, in the UK, even Miss UK 2009-Corporal Katrina Hodge seen action in Iraq, and she got a medal from MOD for rescuing 3 other servicemember on the same jeep and wrestling 2 rifles and subduing an Iraqi Prisoner that escape after their jeep overturned after an accident. I think she is still active duty with the British Army.

Here is her story

By the way, i am not all for the SWAT Commander, she seems like having a big one up her butt.

Agree...lot of errors in the portrayed military. Marines are called Marines, not Soldiers.

Where did the female SWAT commander get her CIB that she wears on her vest? To win your Combat INFANTRY Badge, you need to be in the Infantry, which is currently not open to women, ergo impossible to win for her. Her SWAT mates might care to, because it appears every one of them was wearing some sort of Army Division patch...

Also almost everbody, especially the SWAT commander, hold their Rifles like idiots. Maybe if you're on the run, but everybody shoots from the hip! Hard to believe Recon Marines and SWAT can shoot so much without hitting anything...and I'm pretty sure on more than one occassion I saw the SWAT Team Commander (the dude with the mustache) assaulting with his bolt open.

Enough drama to keep me interested, but I'm pretty sure anyone in the military had trouble believing the way both tactics and military were portrayed.

I was thinking they have to be national guard or something else ridiculous like that there is no way they would have made it through a tour in Iraq with that level of indiscipline.
