Just incredible
Gorgeous shots. Intense colors. Graphic violence. Honestly one of the best movies I've seen. So surprised!!! Never expected to be such a lover of this movie. Have to see this guys other films.

This was my gateway to Refn's works, which I adore. I knew absolutely nothing about "Valhalla Rising" when I watched it for the first time (late 2009 or early 2010). Ditto on "never expected to be such a lover of this movie." It kept lingering in my mind, and I kept feeling a need to re-watch it.
Seen it several times now, and each time feels like barely 20 mins have elapsed I'm just so engrossed. Many reasons why I think it's great film, but that 'plus factor' which affects me deeply, establishing a love affair between it and myself, that's not so easy to explain... Well, not in a short post.
From another new director, Cresciman's "Sun Choke" had a very similar effect on me; that one has been on Netflix for barely a month and I've already watched it 6 times. Many similarities between the two (not story-wise) so, yeah, I'd recommend it to you.
Ignorance is bliss... 'til it posts on the Internet, then, it's annoying.
