They should just legalize drugs.

Of course drugs should be legalised, and regulated. It would certainly rob the gangs of a source of income. Addicts would be able to find help instead of being persecuted. However it would not solve everything. Those gangs would still deal in weapons, prostitution, extortion and violence. As "Tropa de elite" shows, there is a lot of poverty, inequality, corruption and violence. We would have to do something about that, too.

I liked how Neto tried to help the kid who needed glasses. If only the boy would get his glasses he could study and perhaps escape poverty and the slums.
