Eww. How can she kiss a dog AT ALL, really. But more specifically, after watching those dogs eat a dead body she has to know dogs have been eating ANY and EVERYthing since the blindness started; yet she's kissing a dog and letting it lick all over her face? So gross. What kind of people do that?

Airedales are nice dogs though. They just always have a sweet disposition to begin with plus that dog wasn't eating the guy.

I totally agree. They deliberately showed the dog steer clear of the other man-eating dogs. It was symbolic of human society. She accepted the dog just like she accepted decent people.

MAYBE if she had that same breed of dog when she was younger, that would explain her reaction. I'd get it. But no.
Then again, let's reflect back to where she put her mouth earlier in the film. I suppose if I was forced to do THAT, then a homeless dog licking my face wouldn't seem so bad afterwards.

Do you expect dogs to just walk by meat and not eat it? Human beings will also eat other human beings if that is all that is available. Human tongues and mouths are full of bacteria and germs probably the same amount as a dog. I noticed that when I let a dog lick cut it heals quicker than when didn't have a dog.
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.
Actually dog mouths are cleaner than human mouths. They lick wounds to heal them.
