I participate in the Amazon Vine Program (where you get preview copies to review). I saw this in April's list of books and ordered it. I'm now about two-thirds of the way through it. I don't know whether the movie will be good or not (it gets a general release this fall), but the book is a hell of a read. Whether or not anyone is interested in the movie or not should not influence someone in reading this book. It is a good one. It is sort of the opposite of that documentary made about Terry Gilliam's attempt to make a movie of DON QUIXOTE. Absolutely nothing went right and after only a few days of shooting they had to cancel the production. Here one unbelievable stroke of good luck after another takes place.
I definitely plan on seeing the movie when it comes out.
Got an advance copy of the book (we're booking the film and the Miller Bros. for the film class I work for, Movies101.org). I too I'm 2/3 of the way through it and it's a can't put it down book. Anyone interested in film-making against all odds should put it on their must read list and if you're an aspiring film-maker you should keep multiple copies of it under your pillow, by the dining table, in the bathroom, and wherever else you find the need for inspiration.
