Not the Future but the Past and Present

k this totally makes no sense, but i feel when the tribe was killed , we are in the distant past based on the clothing, the massacre, even the Soviets tended not to do this. I feel the 'past' is a couple of hundred year's ago. Yes makes no sense with the present being around present day. I.e the Girl was a baby, but i feel it for whatever reason is meant to cross 2 time span's.
As i said my own explanation make's no sense.

for clue's on Location, i'm sure the 2 guys that capture Sean Bean earlier on, 1 was probably Norwegian. I'm thinking around Severny Island which would off had Scandinavian whaler's in the past.
