Big Bad Wolf Symbolism

There were two parts in the movie that I can think of that linked Saiva to a wolf. She was given the wolf claw by her former lover and she took the wolf emblem off her captor's necklace before he fell to his death. Saiva is the "Big Bad Wolf" who disguises herself in the end to trick Loki. I can't think of any other reason for these scenes unless I missed something about the wolf emblem somehow saying something about Loki's past.
