I watched this film out of interest because Ruslaan was the original choice for Jamal Malik in Slumdog Millionaire.

Ruslaan is not a terrible actor; he's quite good as the spoiled, rich, jokester pretty boy. Though I don't care much for his character.

Plain and simple: this is a boring movie. Most of the characters themselves are boring, the parents are boring, the friends are boring. Even the love interest is boring (part of this may be because Hazel is not very assertive with her Hindi...or the character is shy or something.) Every line she has seems very forced or weak.

This is nothing against shy people (for I am one myself). I remember when I transferred junior year of high school to an even larger school, so I know how she felt. The shyness aspect may contribute to realism, but the whole act gets to be a pain to watch.
