Enjoyable but who the hell was the tech advisor?

Who knows why my wife would watch a show like this, being she is an Army Wife. And who knows why I would start watching it with her on Netflix when she decided to watch it again. I thought 'The Unit' had some gaffs but, this show pretty much takes me to task with every episode. I know the focus is on the wives of course. But I just don't see why they have to shine it up with Delta Operators and Female Super-Colonels.

The first episode, that little comment by the Colonel at the party to the female Lt. Colonel about 'the scared you will kill your wife' survey, accompanied by a smile/smirk. It's not funny, not at all. Delta Steve getting comments from his wife on how to shoot, thats just plain funny.

The female Lt. Colonel really bothers me. First she is Military Intelligence. A 35A Intel Officer. She wouldnt hold any type of command in an Airborne Division. Let alone a command in the field that would include soldiers in combat. MI in any of the Divisions combat brigades wouldnt exceed the company level and would be far in the rear with the gear. Anything higher that would include anyone with Oakleaves would be separate MI Battalion under separate MI Brigades, which would be further in the rear or not even near a front line most of the time.

I'm into season 3 and the first season with all the gossips and Roxy knowing nothing of protocol were pretty funny but so much of it I think "um who told them that's how it is?!"

I come from a big time Navy family, and don't know much about Army life, but at the risk of sounding like a snob, i have one question. Is it at all common for officer's wives and enlisted wives to hang out like this? It never happened in the Navy bases I lived on, except Midway Atoll. And that was only because Midway was such a small community. Everywhere else, there are officer's spouses, and enlisted, and they didn't hang. Especially with such a broad stretch in rank. A general's wife and a Sargeant's wife? Is that a common thing on Army bases?
