Should have ended after Season 5

I just got finished watching seasons 1-5 and I thought it would have been fine to end the show there. Fort Marshall was going to close and we had closure on all the story lines. Also, rewatching these seasons made me realize how much I miss the old tribe. I thought the new tribe was ok but after watching the old eps, no one beats Pamela, Roxy, Roland, CJ, and Denise. Anyone agree/disagree?

Change is hard but reality is that army posts change all the time. I loved the old tribe and I thought that when Pamela and Chase left, that was the beginning of the end. It wasn't and if they would just give the new tribe a chance, they might catch on. I think that it was the right move to keep Denise as a foundation. It made a good transition.

If they have good enough writers, this could go on for some time but this is the second time that the rumors of cancellation have come up. It may be the end after all.

Being an adult is the dumbest thing I have ever done

This show had great potential.

Being a military wife, I've experienced how often your life can change while living on (or even off) base.

I thought the idea of bringing in new characters and new relationships was great. But the show just kinda lost interest for me after Season 5. I still struggled through it however. Season 7 was much more enjoyable than 6.

Anyways, the idea of change could of been done with success; that is how life is as an Army Wife.

Just a thought :)

ITA with the OP. I got used to the new characters & thought that their friendships were cool, but I LOVED the original tribe. I used to love watching the 5 of them get together. I think that it was time for the show to end b/c it had run its course, but I would have done a spin off with the Brooke Shields' character though & called it Air Force Wives. She and Michael could have still stayed together.

I also agree with the OP. I did not enjoy it. Season 5 finale would have been the perfect way to end it. I think TPTB under estimated how much the characters really meant to most and thought they could bring new ones in. In my opinion, it did not work. I could not bring myself to watch S7. With 3 of the original tribe gone, it was not going to be the same.

I completely agree!
I stopped watching it after they killed off Claudia Joy
It broke my heart - fictional character wise

Sure seemed like they were anticipating cancellation after season 5. I would still rather see a finale that turns out not to be than ending a season on a cliffhanger and then get axed. I was so mad when Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior ended with a fade to black and a gunshot. the lousy Soprano's (non) finale was even better than that.

reply

I was upset because they ended season 7 on a cliffhanger I would of liked to see who Gloria chose

reply

They inferred who she chose after Hector had just showed his loyalty/love/support to his "brother'Holly's husband, and Holly commented that she could see why Gloria married him. Gloria smiles. Then Gloria sees new guy talking / flirting with the daughter of Kat.

TOTALLY AGREE!! IT SHOULD HAVE ENDED AFTER SEASON 5

reply

It should have cancelled after 5. It was still watchable after CJ left but after the next main character left they should have cancelled the show. They didn't have to change out anybody it's tv land

I know change is realistic, but I don't really watch TV for realism. I watch TV to lose myself in it and forget reality. I hate change, and I didn't like Season 6 nearly as well because of it. I refused to watch Season 7.

reply

You did the right thing. Season 7 is awful.

reply

I agree. I finally ended up watching it right before I sold the entire series, and it was like a completely new show. I hated it. Also, it kind of seemed to stop in the middle of nowhere. The Season 6 Finale combined with the Season 7 premiere is what I consider the Series Finale.

reply

I agree! But then, I too think Grey's Anatomy should've ended after they fired Isiaih Washington and it's still going strong although I can't stomach it.
