SCRIPTED!!!

Oh my god!!! It's not an interview, they're following a script, AND IT'S NOT EVEN FUNNY!!! David Tench has to be the worst show on TV! Whoever appears on that talk show was either forced into it or was high when they agreed to it.

reply

heheh. I was coming here expecting to be treated to riddiculous statements of how "awesome" this show is. I'm glad to be proved wrong. :D

BRING BACK MICALLEF TONIGHT!

reply

Of course lots of the television "personalities" (what an oxymoron THAT has been) who appear on the series are contracted to Ten (ie the fabulously dull Daniel McPherson).
What is the deal, Ten? If this was any worse, it'd be The Wedge.

reply

Don't get me started on the wedge!

How is it scripted? David Tench may follow a set of questions worked out previously (like all interviewers) but the conversation is not scripted. I've been to a couple of the recordings and they are definately not scripted. Hate the concept as much as you want but you have to admit David Tench has some pretty clever and witty comebacks.

reply

According to an interview with Andrew Denton, Drew Forsythe does follow a script from a booth, but also has rrom to ad-lib. Most of Tench's questions are indeed scripted.

"Now if you'll excuse me, I have to appear in a tortilla in Mexico" - God, The Simpsons.

reply

Okay okay, sorry! Jeez!
I know david tench has a script but i'm talking about the guests. When they reply to his incredibly stupid, non-funny questions they seem incredibly fake. I don't know, it's just a little sus.

The entire interview is scripted. Did anyone else notice Mick Maloy was wearing an earpeice durning his interview?

There are multiple monkeys in my pants.

reply

I don't know, I was there for Natalie Bassingthwaightes interview taping and she was most definatly not following a script- I don't think she even realised that Tench was animated- she almost wet her pants when he 'introduced' himself, and kept saying stuff to the audience like "Is this for real?"
Not the brightest cookie in the jar but it certainly wasn't scripted. I don't think ten would deliberatly turn against its own celebs, now, would they?

reply

OK, fair enough.

There are multiple monkeys in my pants.

I watched the first episode, and was hooked! That is to avoid this show at all costs. I tried to give it another go, but failed miserably. I should have listened to Homer "The lesson is never try, Ha ha ha right in the butt."
I don't know how they can get away with having "guests", when all Tench does is answer his own questions.
What a load of tripe!

reply

WOW! TENCH? SCRIPTED? Pretty bloody obvious i thought, but oh well.

LETS CLEAR THIS UP.....

1- Tench's questions are pre-written (just like any other interviewer), But he doesn't have to follow these questions if something funnier comes to mind.

2- Guest's responses are NOT scripted.

3- While a lot of guests are channel 10 contracters, guests like Nelly Furtado are NOT.

4- The only fake thing about the show is Tench's appearance.

Everything else is real/live including Tench's dialogue

When you people are quoting "scripted" be more specific, the questions are 'pre-written', you are making it sound like the whole interview is word perfect how they want it but its not.

Having said all this, I think the show is a PIECE OF $HIT
