Does anyone actually like it?

I thought this movie was really a total insult to the series, butstill find myself enjoying it. I am not saying its good movie, its crap, but does anyone esle actually like the absolute terribleness of it? ANyone enjoy how campy, and poor and stupid it is?
I actually liked Brendan Fraser in this. Honestly.
Anyone?

I doubt it haha

I liked it. The people complaining are just pathetic cry babies. Having the movie play in China brought something new, instead of rehashing another egypt story. And that Rachel Weisz preferred to sty home with her kid, instead of working, is not really the productions fault.

yes you got me. really that's exactly my feelings about this film. Just gotta love Brendan as Rick O'Connell!

liked Brendan Fraser, he's usually quite good in most things he's in. overall didn't like the film, misses the magic of the first two.

There were some positive aspects. In the beginning the family seems to be falling apart but by the end we see how much they still matter to each other. Zi Yuan and her daughter Lin complimented that by being a close family despite having a similarly irregular life. From a production standpoint these movies are always pretty good. The Emperor's powers allowed them to do things they hadn't done in the series before. Jonathan got to save the day. The Yetis were cute. I also liked the ending song, My Sweet Eternal Love.

Not to say all of that was done perfectly because it wasn't. This film has a lot of flaws. Despite that it's nowhere near the worst Hollywood has put out.

I love it. I love anything that Michelle Yeoh does. The movie has a different director from the first two: Rob Cohen, who has a penchant for Chinese-themed projects, like the syndicated TV series, Vanishing Son, and Dragon: The Bruce Lee story. By the way, Rachel Weisz was not replaced. She didn’t want to do the movie, so she was recast. I thought the Yeti were inspired. “And, Evie? The next time I say. ‘We’ve been in worse spots than this,’ THIS is what I mean by worse spots!”

I love it. It bears repeating. The second film in the series was a recapitulation of the first one, plus the always-unwelcome presence of the smug young product of the loins of the young lovers from the first movie—the little kid. The second movie was also a blatant and clumsy attempt to launch a new franchise starring The Rock. Yeah, THAT went well. It was the cinematic equivalent of a TV Dinner (consult Wikipedia, or a museum).

It's an overblown action/adventure/horror/comedy popcorn blockbuster, just like the first two flicks. It's not as good as the first film, but it's better than the unabsorbing second. It's overdone like the second, but the story is more compelling.

The film bends over backwards to entertain with tombs, mummies, Shanghai, the Great Wall, the Himalayas, yetis, zombies, Shangri-La, a three-headed dragon and martial arts. Let's give credit where credit is due.

While it's unfortunate that Rachel Weisz opted out in order to be with her one year-old son, Maria Bello is a solid replacement and actually looks better in tight pants (as she's curvier and therefore more physically appealing).

Lastly, Roger Ebert insisted that it was the best of the trilogy and he ain't no slouch when it comes to appraising movies, whatever the genre: https://www.rogerebert.com/reviews/the-mummy-tomb-of-the-dragon-emperor-2008
