I literally said the SAME thing when I left the theatre last night! She is hideous! She ruined the movie for me. I found it widely unbelievable that she was a "former" student of Quaid's. They looked about the same age. Besides her having the face of a horse that eyebrow thing she does is like the only trick up her sleeve. Whenever I see her raise one of her eyebrows I cringe. Did she ruin Smart People for you too?

Come on, she's not hideous. Try saying something on here with some worth. I agree that the relationship was totally unbelievable but she's a good actress and seems like a nice person on top of it all.

Apparently Rachel Weisz was originally down to play Parker's role - how much better might that have been! Attractive AND a good actress!

She's not that hot. I have to agree with the original point. At the same time, I thought she played the charater well.

It's not like I go to the theater to rub one off. If you base the worth of a movie on the attraction you have to the female characters, well my friend, you are no better than the rest of the sheep that solely flock to these cookie-cutter movies that repeat time and time again. Go watch MTV.

I think she's pretty too.

Angie Jo on the other hand, I don't think it has so much to do with her face, it's more about the sex appeal she oozes. I don't think she's very pretty or sexy but she has this dark appeal that people love. And there's all the hype. If one media outlet says she's the sexiest women in the world, then she must be or at least that's how the press sees it. It happens every year when they realese the People's Most Beautiful list, everyone jumps on the bandwagon.

I was born when she kissed me. I died when she left me. I lived a few weeks while she loved me.

She has the Barbra Streisand syndrome of being attractive and having character in her appearance at the same time. BS also went through the insults about her appearance way back when. I think she is attractive and a very talented actress. Just because an actress is "traditionally" attractive doesn't mean they will carry the part better.

People really like to say this about her. It's funny, when she was in "Ed Wood" her character (Ed Wood's girlfriend and amatuer actress) is reading a review of his play that she had a part in and she looks up with a worried expression and says in a comical fashion "Do I really have a face like a horse?!" I think that was deliberately put in there to make fun of such comments and as a way of not taking them so seriously.

what a horrible reflection on our society that we only we want to see the "beautiful people". so lets take anyone who is not beautiful and lock them away, avert our eyes, shun them. there are beautiful people and ugly people and everyone in between. so it follows we have actors of all types, not just beautiful. additionally beauty is subjective. I'm sure not everyone finds you gorgeous, but that should not preclude you from becoming an actor, should it?

I agree, but the thing with SJP is, not only is she ugly she's also a bad actress.

Tilda Swinton or Meryl Streep aren't beautiful too, but they are really good actresses, so I have no problem watching them.

I'm not a huge fan of SJP, so I'm not defending her, but you can't measure all actors by meryl streep, lol. she is exceptional. you can't measure all actors against brando or deniro either. I think SJP is capable as an actor. she must be doing something right as she has been steadily workng since she was a teenager. I just think it's awful that people are cruel enough to slam others for their appearance. if they get older, they look OLD. if they have a big nose they are UGLY, if they get a nose job they look "PLASTIC" or "FAKE". you just can't win. if they had cast a beautiful actress in this film I'm sure we would have people saying "no way that beautiful woman would go for old, broken down dennis quaid", lol.
