Lack of gay sex *spoilers*

Before getting into it- if you're going to make the "no straight guy wants to see that" argument, stfu; and in terms of appealing to masses for sales, they were pretty much doomed with their budget and the extra boobs didn't improve the quality of this movie as is.

What I'm referring to is the build-up here. They made it pretty clear that Rufus was attracted to that guy, hammered the point in, and when the seduction scene comes he makes a lame Brokeback pun (how does he know that movie, how do they have a bus, how do they not know the president is black?). I'm not saying show full on penetration, just don't be so shy about the passion. Seriously, the director's gay. Why is he being such a wuss about it?

It wouldn't bother me half as much, if not for how the movie was filled with anti-climatic subplots like this. The Bucklands having jungle fever added nothing to the story and wasn't particularly funny either. The whole reality show concept felt shoehorned in, period.

Also, Rufus just didn't seem like Rufus. All the returning characters just generally seemed inconsistent. Hucklebilly was the only one who had his spirit from the first movie.

I loved this film. Tim Sullivan is one of few gay horror directors who is willing to put gay stuff in his movies. The segment "I Was a Teenage Werebear" in Chillerama is all out gay goodness. Check it out. And if you're a fan of gay themes in horror, check out the facebook page Boys, Bears & Scares, dedicated to everything gay male horror:

Gay sex in a mainstream movie - especially aimed at the audience this was - would be a nail in the coffin. And there were enough nails already with this.

'Then' and 'than' are different words - stop confusing them.

Um, I would hardly call this a mainstream movie lol. A gay sex scene would not have been
"too much" for this. Especially since it came out in 2010.

I, personally, wouldn't have been offended if there were scenes involving gay sex. But I think a lot of horror fans are straight men so they would obviously rather see naked girls. I also agree with you on the rest. The reality show format seemed like an attempt to be trendy and reference the pop culture of the moment like Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, Nicole Richie, etc. I think it would've been better without all of it. Also most of the characters did seem different than they were in the previous film. They say and do things I don't think they ever would've done in the first movie.

Overall, it is sort of fun. Though not as good as the first. I give it a 7/10 whereas the first would get an 8.
