why in the hell didn't they just leave after those three rednecks with the guns caught them trying to bang in the woods? I would be all F this! I mean- that's a baaaaaaaad omen!!

Thats the exact scene where this film lost me. They have sex near a walking path, some red necks find them and humiliate them. Then they continue on with their enjoyable weekend (and decide its a good idea to throw away the bullets for his gun?).
What an awful movie.
Can't you say this about most horror films? Question why the character does something? In JEEPER CREEPERS they actually had a whole scene which says, "this is that moment in the horror film the characters do the dumbest thing."
But, if you need a reason...If you reach the 3rd act, you'll discover why she didn't want to leave.

I found the girlfriend to be so dumb. Those guys were basically robbing them and harassing her -- why not use the gun to scare them off/defend yourself, then notify the police?
Plus, they are in a forest where one of them said they might encounter a bear (whether or not this is true possibility, I don't know).
well, the problem with that is 2 people were carrying shotguns... if you are going to pull a pistol on someone with shotguns, you better be damn sure you are going to shoot and kill. I think a latter scene proves that the bf is no killer.
