I agree! My child does not like to watch this show, and this morning Spongebob was suppose to be on according to the tv guide. Guess what was on instead...this stupid show. I do not like this show. JMO

just give it a chance. I hated it at first now I think it's hilarious. So does my eleven year old nephew.

I'm 12 and ever since this show has come on I don't like it at all..... I rarely watch NICK anymore except for Nick at night..

NO WAY.
I think its intended audience is more on teenagers and adults who can relate with some of the show's implicit humor.
They actually throw in humor like puns and inside celebrity jokes.
I'd understand if kids don't immediately get it.

Not getting the show's jokes would only lead me to believe that you've regularly been deprived of humor in your life.

I'm kidding. ^_^



BTW, Spongebob is not only a "kid" show as it is FILLED with puns and implicit adult humor (Like the episode where Squidward's snobby friend came to visit and the episode where Spongebob and Patrick played stereotyped versions of first-time parents)-- which is what makes it appealing to many of those who appreciate TV shows like The Simpsons and Family Guy.

If you gave it a chance you might have second thoughts. I used to HATE this show and I even trash-talked it, but that's when it first came out and I never took the time to actually sit down and watch it; I only judged by first impressions. I even loved the movie. But once I started watching it and seeing all the episodes, I LOVE it. It's amazing because I swear I am the #1 fan of this show in the world. My bro & sis and I are obsessed with it. Sometimes we'll even wake up early to watch it lol. It's really funny and cute. And I'm 15, too.

So, my point is, don't judge it by first impressions.

haha im 20 years old and i find it pretty clever sometimes and at other times its just stupid (in a good way) humor

The first several episodes, I was like "Oh, crap. this sucks." Literally, I said that out loud. But, while the show's brand of humor is not blatant and obvious, but it is subtle, irreverent, innuendo, implicit. At first I hated it, but then I found how funny it is. It is by far not very rememberable, like other shows where you are laughing the next day just thinking about, but it is quality programming, if you watch and/or are able to understand it. Most likely the people who hate this show are people who never watch and just judge it by the promos. OR are people who are young and don't get the implicitity and/or just have a overall dull, limited sense of humor.

Here, here. i tried to like it, but I just can't. There's something about stupid animals with even stupider humans. I mean, come on, you can't tell that's a cow under that wig. WTH? Makes no sense. Even my 7yo can't stand it.
