BEST BRITISH COMEDY EVER!

I watched The Sweeney last night and I haven't stopped laughing since - what a corker!

My favourite comedic scenes:

When the call came through that the banks panic button had been pushed - The officer strolled over to Regan to inform him that "the bank is being robbed". Everyone WALKS out towards the lifts (remember they must be on at least the 15th floor). They must then have to wait for the lift to arrive, the lift would take them to the underground carpark where they get to their cars before heading off towards the bank. When they reach the bank they are the first there lololololol

During the race to the bank, Damien Lewis' character came over the Police radio to tell Regan to stop lolololol There is an armed robbery but leave it Regan! I wonder if this is new Police procedure.

The shootout that follows is just so *beep* that it must have been a parody. They didn't surround the bank they just pulled up, got their guns out and started shooting. Then they ran around London shooting into crowds lolololol

The climax was in a caravan park lololololol They looked really frightened when they were driving around - imagine if they had hit a caravan - the wing mirror would've been ripped off at the very least!

I'd say that there was no way armed Police in London could act like this until I remembered Jean Charles de Menezes and that bloke they shot that sparked the riots!

I think the Top Gear version of the caravan park chase was actually better.

The lack of ABS on the Jaguar did bug me and I would have preferred the line added that Top Gear suggested about holding the button for 10 seconds.

I agree with every point that @caslingary raised but will add that any scene with (Ray Winstone's) Regan running was a real treat too. Oh and any scene where Regan is seducing a beautiful younger woman took the biscuit...

Rotten plot, poor casting (many good actors but miscast), rotten styling (Ray Winstone's wardrobe was a treat), formulaic car-chase, not a patch on the TV series...

You can pretty much point out all the films they ripped off or got inspired by to put it kindly, Point Break (with the funny masks), Heat (with the shootout), Lethal Weapon (with buddy bromance) and Mission Impossible 4 (with everyone going against Winstone), they even ripped off Winstones earlier prison film. The theme music was so over the top too, but it was fun to watch though.
