So...what did the mean guy do? (Allen)

Ok, I'm obviously not gonna argue, this film was terrible. The story has been seen a billion times since the 80's but, unfortunately, this movie took itself way too seriously, which really killed the poor chances it had at being watchable.

But, since I like Ben Drew very much, I managed to watch it...yeah, I know, fangirls' superpowers suck... Thing is, I'm french, and the subtitles I had were pretty bad I think. So I'm really not sure I got it right at the end. What did Allen do exactly? 'Cause Winstone and Drew, while driving to the Pegasus, seem to say that the other serbian guy had tricked them into thinking that Allen was responsible for the first robbery.
Is that right?

So...that means it wasn't Allen...so why did he need a complicated alibi with his passport since he was in the clear all the time? What the heck did he actually do since he wasn't at the bank robbery either? By the way, could someone please explain to me why they robbed this private bank, since they knew the "sweeney" was watching it?

Ok, I'm asking for a lot (and still, I'm not asking you why the baseball bats or why not a single investigation about the victim and the reason why she was shot) but I really don't feel brave enough to watch it again and test other subtitles.

But if the actual plot of the film was about a mean, but "innocent", guy, trying to trap a cop he had a history with, now that would actually make it a film with a less worse idea than I thought.

Anyway, sorry for the long post, and hope I didn't make too many mistakes.

Lem! Lem, I'm sorry! But I had to, right?!

That the electronic signature on Allen's passport was faked, would indicate that Allen was involved in the jewelry heist. False alibis are not created without a reason. The MO was his and so the police had good reason to suspect him, and the alibi provided by the passport threw the police off the scent for a while at least.

This basically allowed the big heist to go forward. At least I think it did.

Hope this helps.
