Firearms Question

Were the handguns carried by the Sweeney SIG-Sauer 9mm, or what? That is what they looked like to me. Does anyone know for certain?

Gary they're using Sig Sauer P228 pistols. The bad guy uses a Beretta 92.

Go to imfdb for details of all the firearms used in the movie. Did you know I'm one of the moderators over there? Probably told you that already haven't I.

Yes; thank you, Mr C. I thought they were SIG 9mm but I wasn't certain about the model.

Incidentally, I got to shoot my S&W Model 57 for the first time the other day. I had a guy in Okie City to load a thousand rounds up and they and the gun shot beautifully.

An 8 3/8" barrel blued S&W 41 Magnum.

How ya been?

Doing well.Busy. well I should say our kids are keeping me busy (one in high school and football and another in college). Went to an estate auction a couple weeks ago and watched a beautiful Mauser C/96 Broomhandle (DOB:1912) with British proof marks go for $1,500. It was complete with the wooden holster/stock, tools and even a couple boxes of .30 Mauser. $1,500 is a great price for such a set, but I'm not at a place right now where $1,500 is the equivalent of $550.00 which is typically my level of pain when purchasing firearms (I can go higher if I occasionally throw in a gun for trade to detract the cost). Which is too bad because I would really like a Mauser Broomhandle in my collection. One of my grail guns. I don't care about the ergonomics or the fact that the 30 Mauser is a very zippy mouse bullet. I wouldn't want one to shoot. I want one to have in my safe and cackle "my precious" over.

There that should freak out some anti-gun types don't you think?

How did you like it by the way? Few years ago I fired the Model 58. That's a lot of caliber for a four inch revolver - even an N frame revolver. Fortunately the owner had Pachmayr grips on it.

You make me envious. The 58 is one of my Grail guns. That and and a Model 20, the fixed-sight N-frame 38 Special.

BTW, how do you like my book so far?

Finished it a few days ago. Good work. Very readable and I like how you addressed some of the very issues that have come up over the years over on The Stand message board.
