Firearms Facts

Just a few:

1) If the bad guys have full autos and you have pistols, you back off. You do not give chase

2) If you are shot in the upper thoracic cavity above your bulletproof vest's ceramic insert by assault rifles from ten feet, you DIE. You certainly don't show two smell bruises and act as if you are "ok"

3) Rifle shots can be heard for at least a mile. No one should have been "surprised" when the gunmen entered the library as they would have already heard the shooting outside.

Surprisingly bad film

Bad films are a crime against humanity.

Yawn......

Name one mainstream(ish) film that actually gets it right.

Two things:

1) Heat and Public Enemies are two.
2) "Yawn?" Seriously? Is 4chan's discussion a little too intellectual for you this morning?

If you aren' t going to add anything useful, why bother responding at all?

Apologies - Only just seen your reply, there.

1) Heat and Public Enemies are two.

Pretty debatable.
I'd rather not bother going through the entire films picking out every firearms error, as there are already a few on the Goofs pages.

Seriously? Is 4chan's discussion a little too intellectual for you this morning?

More lacking any intellect.
If you're going to rip on a film's errors, at least pick a film that stands a chance of having good continuity, writing and entertainment value... as well as picking something that doesn't tend to be wrong with most films anyway.
If you want to talk intellect, at least have enough yourself to account for this being a film in the first place, where such details are often 'bent' to facilitate plot elements.

If you aren' t going to add anything useful, why bother responding at all?

I was probably bored at work and hoping for an engaging thread, rather than the usual whine about how the guns are wrong in a film - My point still stands: They usually get the guns wrong in just about *every* film!

Mainstream film that gets it right: Way of the Gun.

Is that really mainstream? I heard it was more of a cult one.
Haven't seen, yet, but will check it out. Thanks.

"Matewan" (1987) did a pretty good job. But is that movie considered to be mainstream or an art house flick?

reply

Agree same as the mum nonchalantly pushing the pram as if she wouldn't have known there was a gun battle going on.
You are right,to encourage bad guys with machine guns to fire back at you with the chance of innocent bystanders getting killed would be appalling and disciplinary mistake for a police officer.
