At first I wasn't getting into it, but it didn't take long before I totally went along for the ride. Plenty of Michael Mann influence, which I enjoyed. The film had a strong visual direction with it's over-exposed whites, and I found the car chases to be exciting, and the shootouts had a classic "cool" factor to them.

Also, I genuinely didn't know where the film was going to go in the later scenes.

Highly enjoyable. Am I the only one? And if you didn't like it, try and say more than simply "no" when you responde.

I wasn't really taken with the film. Now the series I loved.
Perhaps I drew comparisons when looking at Reagan and Carter. John Thaw was a downright thug at the end of the day but he had a good heart and his ultimate goal was to do good but Ray Winstones depiction of his character left me being unable to identify with him on some, if any, level.
Plan B was good casting as Carter and perhaps was the more believable out of the two but for me I felt it could've been done better.
If recasted then maybe Stephen Graham could've been good as Reagan.

I gave this 4/10, and that might be generous. It was an insult to the original. Reagan and Carter were the most obnoxious characters I have seen for some time. When I'm watching 'The Sweeney' and cheering for the villains, something is definitely wrong.

Only watched it as I like Ray Winstone. This was NOT a good film for him, even with Hayley Atwell *and* Damian Lewis!!

Edit: I really can't spell, today... stoopid new keyboard!

I agree with you if people gave the film a chance surely they would see how good the film actually is.The film Sweeney pays homage to the t.v series!! car stunts,sex,fights,swearing, guns it's all there. I think the film should be given 6.5/10
