Do you think the Iga got what they deserved for attempting to ambush the kouga in the challenge?

wait what happens to the iga clan i didnt get that far yet. im an iga fan.

Bah, Iga are the most cowardly of ninjas. Fighting in packs, ambushes, falcities? Cowards I tell you, cowards! Forgot about the rape too...

actually attacking in packs and ambushes are strategy. if it was a one on one fight i would agree that it was cowardly, but they only used the ten ninjas on the list to attack the other ten ninjas.

I'm a Kouga fan so I hate most of the Igas, spcially "Nenki"!, but they have some badasses from the Iga too (Yashamaru, Koshiro, and Akeginu)

Well, although i liked more of the Kouga than the Iga, i have to defend the Iga a little. If certain events at the start had turned out differently, it may very well have been the Kouga killing many of the Iga before they knew they could defend themselves.

If i recall rightly, that was Danjo and Kazamachi's plan early on. And i can't imagine Kazamachi, Gyobu or Kagero preferring to do things "fairly" if given the chance to do things their way.

But Gennosuke is their leader and he commands alot of respect, unlike Oboro. There is no instigator in the Kouga clan that is as influential as Tenzen. The story would have ended peacefully if Kouga had been aware first. I even think Gennosuke mentions it at one point in the anime.

You think so? Had Kouga known first, they would have done exactly the same thing- think how Danjo stole the scroll from Yashamaru so that the Iga would not be able to find out about the end of peace treaty. Besides, if gennosuke knew about it, he was still more determined than Oboro to save his clan's dignity. Why Oboro was kneeling ddown calling his name in the mud, he turned his back and walked away, and he was the one who came up with the whole challenge on the way to Sunpu thing. There was lots of pressure on him from the side of the other Kouga ninja, so I expect things would not have changed so much had the Kouga known from the start.

I guess we'll never know. It would be interesting to see what would have happened but that is what makes the series so great. All events in the story have the feel to them that they could have taken a different turn completely had only one minor thing changed.
